Minnesota Deer Season • 2026
Women of the Northwoods: Share Your Deer Hunting Story
From a first doe to a hard-earned buck, every hunt has a story worth telling. This deer season, MNOutdoorsMN is celebrating women who hunt across Minnesota and the Midwest.
Hunting is about more than the harvest. It’s early mornings, family traditions, patience, learning, and time outdoors. Whether this is your first season or your twentieth, we’d love to hear about your experience.
Show us your 2026 deer!
We welcome stories from women of all experience levels, including first-time hunters. You don’t need a trophy buck to participate. A doe harvest, a meaningful family hunt, or a memorable day in the woods is worth celebrating.
Submit your story and photo
Send your story and a photo, if you’d like, to [email protected]. You can include:
- Your first name and hometown (optional)
- The county or general region where you hunted (no exact locations)
- The date of your hunt and whether you harvested a buck or doe
- What made this hunt special
- A respectful photo of you and your deer (optional)
Attach your photo in your email app. Please clearly say whether you give permission to publish your submission on the MNOutdoorsMN website and social media. For hunters under 18, a parent or legal guardian must send the submission and give permission. We will review submissions before publication and may edit for clarity; submitting does not guarantee publication. Please do not send exact stand locations, private property information, or personal contact details for publication.
It's not just about the biggest buck
We especially want to recognize first-time hunters, mentors, mothers and daughters, and women building their own outdoor traditions. Every respectful story can encourage someone else to experience the outdoors.
